ART EXHIBITION: NINE WAYS 2022 ( 1April - 15 May)
Group Exhibition at Belconnen Arts Centre, Belconnen, ACT. Opening hours Tuesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm).
Artists Statement: Alan Pomeroy ‘9 Ways’ at the BAC. My digital images are composites from features found in, or related to, the Lake Ginninderra area.
Each finished image recombines and juxtapositions different features to create an emotional narrative. The features range from structural elements such as buildings and sculpture to wildlife and the human interaction with these as seen with graffiti.

Artist's Statement. The surface appearance of the human body can be examined in many ways. Faces and hands are the most recognisable parts of the human body and reinterpreting the shapes and juxtapositions of these body parts allows us to re-examine what we may assume. Body posture evokes emotion. Whether the body is still or moving, the figure has its own fascination. In stillness, we can have meditation. In movement we can appreciate the shape, form and beauty of the human body.

The Exhibition is on at M16 Gallery in Griffith, Canberra on February 6 (Thursday Opening 6pm) to February 23 (Sunday). Gallery hours are Wednesday to Sunday 12-5pm, 21 Blaxland Crescent Griffith ACT. My paintings reflect and re-interpret the ancient art of illustration (illumination) of stories in manuscripts, mosaics and frescoes. This series has a spiritual theme based on Christian stories but has universal relevance.
