Artist's Statement for Man & Machine Series 2005

Pipes, as components of machines arose with the development of factories, the industrial revolution and the development of our society into cities.
The interaction of man with machines is seen by many to be a complex relationship with mixed benefits for different people.
These paintings capture two of these relationships.
